Do you have trouble sleeping? Are you abnormally sleepy throughout the day? If so, you may have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA is a potentially serious sleep disorder, and one of the most common that we see in the clinic. It causes breathing to repeatedly stop and start during sleep. This type of apnea occurs when your throat muscles intermittently relax and block your airway during sleep. A noticeable symptom of OSA is snoring.
At Sunflower Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, we have made it our mission to streamline the process for obtaining a quick, accurate, and affordable diagnosis of OSA. Our goal is to schedule patients for a quick sleep consultation within a week of referral, and when appropriate complete in-home sleep testing as soon as possible. The in-home sleep study is then interpreted and results are called to the patient along with all appropriate orders for treatment. In more complex cases an in-lab sleep study may be required.
